Sir Richard: priest, scholar, world traveler and friend, who often enterained me over lunch with wit, charm and melancholy of an Irish storyteller. When I mentioned that I had not been to Ireland, he told about his first trip there. Someone arranged his stay with an Irish family, who would pick him up at the airport. He had their tel. number, just in case, plus a second one that he should call to say hello for one of his friends. No one came to pick him up, so he called; they aplogized, came, and took him to their home. He thought they were a bit confused, but had a grand time. Apparently he called the wrong number. Three days later, a rather frantic intended host found him. All was sorted out and he spent the rest of the holiday where he was supposed to. He added with a sly voice that his unexpected host was more congenial!
