Obituary of Jerry J. O'Shaughnessy

Jerry J. O'Shaughnessy of Tamarac, Fla., formerly of South Orange, N.J., and Wall Township, N.J., died on Sunday, May 15, 2011, at University Hospital, Tamarac, Fla. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 217 Prospect St., South Orange, on Saturday, May 21, at 9:30 a.m. Entombment will be in Gate Of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. Visitation will be held at The Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home, 2122 Millburn Ave., Maplewood, N.J., on Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. only. Born in Newark, N.J., Mr. O'Shaughnessy worked in order correspondence for Westinghouse, Newark, from 1933 until retiring in 1979. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, South Orange, N.J., and the Gregory Club, Montclair, N.J. He was a volunteer at the St. Vincent De Paul Society, St. Malachy Parish, Tamarac, Fla., and an usher at St. Malachy Parish. He was active in Men's Club Section 10, Tamarac, Fla., and a member of an Italian/American club in Florida. Mr. O'Shaughnessy was the beloved brother of Daniel J. O'Shaughnessy and the late Frances Brysett; loving son of the late Jerry and Nora O'Shaughnessy; dear uncle of Dennis Brysett and Maryann Sajor, and great-uncle of Kimberly Zito and Danielle Deuel.
