Pat/Molly
I am so sorry for your loss. I have a daughter Molly's age named Maureen who is at Cornell and also Kathy who is autistic. Your husband/dad was a great man. An excellent athlete and a very grounded person. I used to watch Frank cut through the water at the Maplewood pool and assumed he was only a swimmer but was also a biker and runner. I attended St Francis Xavier High School so Frank's name meant a lot to me. I often saw him on NJT trains heading to my job as an actuary. I am so sorry for your grief. Best regards Bob Howley

Pat and Molly, words can't express how much sadness we feel for your loss. Frank was one of the best and it's hard to imagine life without his warmth and sense of humor and kindness. He was just so comfortable to be around and he made it so easy to like him. Such a loss for all of us. Our hearts and prayers are with you both.

Frank was co-counsel for my law firm for a number of years and I got to know him just from talking to him over the telephone. We talked about our daughters (both about the same age) and he always spoke very fondly of Molly. Frank always took the time to ask how you were and was such a pleasure to work with. I will truly miss him. My deepest condolences go to his family.

"The Heart of Maplewood"
Frank may have passed away but his heart is still beating.
To me, and many of us in Maplewood, Frank was the personification of what we love most about our town. He was a kind, generous man with an easy smile and a passion for life that would make life, itself, blush in embarrassment. The man had a special way of making people feel comfortable; much like the sidewalks and shops of Maplewood Village can make a stranger feel as if he's stepped into the home of an old, familiar friend.
Twelve years ago, before my wife Jackie and I even had a chance to unpack our moving boxes, we found ourselves sitting at a dining room table at 46 Kendal Avenue sharing Thanksgiving dinner with Frank and his family. His invitation was a simple, welcoming gesture of friendship. But one not always extended by every hand in every town. I've heard it said that, to live an honorable life, we should write our own obituary and then try to live up to it. Clearly Frank had heard the same and acted on the words. His personality will be remembered, his character should be emulated.
56 years is not a long time. But it is long enough to live a good life. Long enough to be a loving husband and father. Long enough to be a true friend. And long enough to make a lasting impression on countless lives you might touch. I cannot begin to imagine how desperately Frank's wife Pat and daughter Molly will miss him. We will all miss him. But none of us will forget him.
Frank Turner was Maplewood. And we won't forget him because if we listen closely, if we really try, we can hear his heart beat. I hear it still. In the laughter of our children; In the barking of our dogs; In a distant train whistle; Even in a greeting between neighbors. And when the town quiets down to the sound of our own hearts beating, that's when we'll hear it the most. Because Frank's spirit lives on in all of us.

Dear Patricia and Molly,
Although we have never met please accept my sincere condolences. Fran and I were very close friends in Pt Washington and St. Peter's K-6. We lived in the same neighborhood and spent much time together playing by the railroad tracks, tobogganning in winter on the golf course and exploring the sand pits. We got into trouble once and were "sentenced" to the PAL gym where we learned to box- we gave each other bloody noses. We lifted weights and played together on a great high school football team.
The Turner family was very good to me. I remember fondly his parents, older bothers, Judy and Kitty (and Maria).
But Fran was the best of that clan. He was a terrific athlete, a loyal friend and had the biggest heart of anyone. We lost touch after high school but every once in a while I heard his name mentioned. It has always made me happy to think of him.
May the tides of time wash away your sorrow and leave you only with memories of joy.

Pat and Molly,
My deepest condolences on your loss. I suppose my favorite memory I have of Fran was when he and I wrestled at the beach in North Carolina. He joked that he could throw me into the surf, I said he couldn't and off we went. In the end he did just pick me up and toss me in the water, but it was good fun. He certainly showed that background in wrestling!
I will see you very soon.

When Septmeber arrives I always think of my friend Francis who would celebrate his birthday this month. We spent many days at each others homes, running through the wood to the railroad tracks... or.... when we got in trouble...we learned boxing at the Port W ashington Police Athletic League with Sgt . Mahoney.
In high school we worked out together in the summer with the other neighborhood guys to get ready for football.
Only good memories...

Dear Pat and Molly:
My sincere condolences to both of you. I have known Frank since early Firemans Fund days as one of the managing attorneys. We shared a love of lacrosse and made a nice habit of catching up with each other during the NCAA lax tournament each year. He spoke of you both and was very proud of Molly's achievements. Frank went way too soon, and he will be missed. Again, I am sorry for your loss, and may God in time grant you the peace that comes with being part of a wonderful person's life.
