Obituary of Paul T. Gizzo Sr.

Paul T. Gizzo Sr., 62, of Whippany, N.J., formerly of Maplewood, N.J., died June 24, 2011, in Hackensack University Medical Center, Hackensack, N.J. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Our Lady Of Mercy Church, 60 Whippany Road, Whippany, N.J., on Tuesday, June 28, at 10:30 a.m. Interment is in St. Mary's Cemetery, Whippany. Visitation will be held at the Jacob A. Born in Newark, N.J., Mr. Gizzo resided in Maplewood for 23 years before moving to Whippany 10 years ago. He was a Maplewood police officer from 1970 to 1995, when he retired as captain. He was also the assistant security director and eventually security director at The Mall of Short Hills, where he worked from 2000 to 2010. Mr. Gizzo was the beloved husband of Mary Jeanne Gaven Gizzo; devoted father of Paul T. Gizzo Jr. and his wife, Elaine, and Jennifer Hesse and her husband, George; cherished grandfather of Alex and Jason Gizzo, Gaven and Landon Hesse.
