Susan M. Rauchut (nee Mosco) 93 of Basking Ridge, formerly of Bloomfield, passed away at her home at Sunrise Assisted Living in Basking Ridge, where she was a resident for the past eight years.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St.Teresa Of Avila Church, 306 Morris Ave, Summit on Sat, July 16th at 10:45 AM. Interment St. Teresa's Cemetery, Summit. Born in Assergi, Italy, August 15, 1917, Susan came to the US at the age of five through Ellis Island with her Mother, Guiditta Mosco and her two siblings, to join their father Panfilo Mosco, living first in Pennsylvania and later in Summit, NJ. Susan was a graduate of Summit High School and then attended the Franklin Nursing School in Newark at night while working as a nurse's aide during the day. She became a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). She went on to work as a private duty nurse and then at the Cherry Nursing Home in Montclair for fifteen years until she retired in 1986.
She was predeceased by her husband of 45 years Albert Rauchut, her brothers Louie Mosco and Marino Mosco, her sister-in-law Mella Mosco, her brother-in-law Robert Vesper, and her daughter-in-law Guner Gery Rauchut. She is survived by her children Albert Rauchut Jr. of Falls Church, VA, and Judith Donahue Flynn and her husband Joseph Pagano, of Basking Ridge, NJ., as well as four grandchildren, Albert Rauchut III and his wife Hilda, of Charleston S.C., Jennifer Rauchut of Charleston, S.C., Susan Donahue Brooks and her husband J. Paschal Brooks III, of NYC, and Christopher Donahue, of Hoboken, NJ., and two great-grandchildren, Troy and Shandi Rauchut. Susan is also survived by her sister Jean Vesper of Summit, and brother Chester Mosco and his wife Margie of Kenilworth, NJ.
Susan loved to read, sew, knit, crochet, cooking, and taking care of her family and especially being a grandmother.
