Huebner --- On September 20, 2011. Madelene Codina Huebner of Maplewood formerly of Chatham Township. Beloved wife for 63 year to Charles F. Huebner. Sister of Joan Lundgard. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Daughter of the late Peter Anthony and Madelene Bauer Codina, she spent her early school years in Barcelona, Spain with three of her five sisters. After attending Mount Holyoke College, she joined the Navy during WWII, working in naval intelligence as part of the unit that broke the Japanese code before the Battle of Midway. For 25 years she was Professor of Spanish at Farleigh Dickinson University. Her hobbies were gardening and birdwatching. She studied piano and cello, and played flute with the Summit Symphony. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service at Winchester Gardens, The Great Hall, 333 Elmwood Ave, Maplewood on October 29 at 3 p.m.. Interment at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Peter Anthony Codina Scholarship, Siena College Development Office, 515 Loudon Road, Loudonville, NY 12211. Arrangements by The Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home, Maplewood.
