Obituary of Robert J. McGeorge

Robert J. McGeorge, 86  of Kenilworth formerly of Union passed away at home on Sat, Oct 13, 2018. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Theresa's Church, 541 Washington Ave, Kenilworth on Wed, Oct 17th at 10:30 AM. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery, E. Hanover. Visitation will be held at The Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home 2122 Millburn Ave, Maplewood on Tuesday, 4-8 PM. For more information or to send condolences please visit jacobhollefuneralhome.com.  Robert was born and raised in Newark, he lived in Union for many years before moving to Kenilworth 10 years ago. He was a roofer with Local # 4 in Irvington for many years then he worked in the maintentance department for the Newark Board of Education from 1970 until he retired in 1995. Robert served in the US Navy during the Korean War, he was a 4th degree Knight with Knights of Columbus #4504, Union and a member of the Springfield-Hillside Elks. Robert was predeceased by his beloved wife Janet Thrum McGeorge in 1978. He is survived by his devoted children Robert L McGeorge (Monica), Patricia Byron (Gary) and Timothy  McGeorge (Laura) and his loving grandchildren Kevin, Robert, Christopher, Patrick, Dawn and Casey.
