Ceal was a loved member by all at the Maplewood Senior Club, and will be very much missed. Her mind was always so alert and she never stopped listening and learning from the speakers who gave talks there. She was amazing! Also to be noted, she was polite and well mannered with everyone she spoke to. At her 105th birthday last year, I wised her many, many more birthdays and she commented. "They'll be in Heaven" t

Fifteen or so years ago, my mother Dagny, and I went to a Senior Luncheon at St Joseph’s. As my mom went to look for a table, she said “Oh, there’s Miss Farley, your first grade teacher. Why don’t you go and say ‘Hello’.”. As I approached, Miss Farley looked up and said “Oh my, Roberta Maas, how nice to see you!” Wow! Even if I hadn’t changed in the past 50 plus years (ha ha), it was genius of her to remember me out of the hundreds of first graders she so gently and expertly taught.
Miss Farley will certainly be missed and fondly remembered by many grateful to have known her.

She taught 4 generations of siblings and cousins and all of us remember her kindness and no one ever had a bad word. If you saw her 1, 10, 20, 30 or 50 years later she remembered your name and a story about you. Later after retirement her and my Mom spent time with the various senior groups and volunteers as well as some parties. She was a great friend to our Mom. She will be missed, but we must celebrate such a wonderful life and the thousands of us you lives she touched and made better.

My heart aches knowing that Ms Farley passed away. She was my first grade teacher at St, Joe's. Learned how to read in her class and truly a remarkable memorable woman. Today, my mother of 84 years mentions how she had Ms Farley in her first year of teaching. Remembers when Ms Farley had the students out their head down on the desk and close their eyes. When she woke, there was a piece of candy on everyone’s desk. It was still true when I was there. God bless.

I imagine that all the students she had over the years will remember her fondly. Rest in peace, Miss Farley. Sending thoughts and prayers for all of her family and friends.

My heart is broken for her family. I started St Joe’s in first grade in 1957. I didn’t go to kindergarten, so she was my first teacher ever. My family called me Lynn and never told me my name was Lenore. That first day, she kept calling for Lenore. I was looking around for Lenore just like the rest of the class. She finally asked whose name wasn’t called. When I raised my hand, she asked what name my family called me. I told her Lynn. She was the only teacher st St Joe’s who called me Lynn for my 8year stint. By 2nd grade I knew my name. When my sister came along later a week later, my folks made sure she knew her name before she went to school. Loved Miss Farley. So sorry I can’t be there because I live Florida.

I was just reminiscing about Miss Farley and what a wonderful teacher and person she was! Introducing us to "Dick and Jane", and prompting us to ask questions about them and the story...she was my First Grade teacher in 1952, and a wonderful introduction to the superior education I received at St. Joseph's School. Her life story is so nice to read. I loved that she treated even first graders as worthy people. So happy that she had a long and wonderful life...

I am so sorry to hear this news. Miss Farley was my first grade teacher in 1979. She was so sweet and I remember her being so well dressed everyday. I have very fond memories of my early years at St. Joseph’s School and she for sure was apart of that experience. Sending thoughts and prayers to the family during this difficult time.

Miss Farley may have been small in stature but her heart was as big as a skyscraper. She was my first grade teacher at St. Joseph School where she made quite an impression on many young students, wetting our appetites for learning. I occasionally saw her out and about in town and would speak with her when I had the chance to thank her for being my teacher. Always with a smile and a twinkle in her blue eyes, she would listen as I shared my memories of her. I was in her class during the 63-64 school year. How many boys and girls she must have known in her many years of teaching. My most sincere condolences to the family.
