Ralph was as great a fellow and best colleague that anyone could have. I'll miss him. If anyone ever inspired a seven year old boy from West Texas to be an archaeologist it was Ralph. Professionally and personally I owe much of my career to talks I had with him at Texas A&M. He was common sense and practical application of theory and was genuinely concerned about my career. I hope I don't disappoint his memory.

It was an honor to know Ralph. When I retired to Mattituck And people learned I was an archeologist, they always asked if I knew Ralph. His name remains synonymous with Ft. Corchaug and the archeology of Long Islands East End.
