Obituary of Nigel Miller

Please share a memory of Nigel to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Nigel Roger Christopher Miller died at the age of 57 on May 16th, 2019 at NYU Langone Medical Center from complications following a heart attack. We, his family and friends, grieve his sudden passing.
Nigel was born to Charles and Doreen Miller on December 11th, 1961 in the former British Guiana, the youngest of their eight children, and grew up in Georgetown. Following a move to the United States, he attended Montclair High School in New Jersey and Long Beach City College in California. In recent years he settled in New Jersey and worked at several hotels in the New York metropolitan area, most recently as an Accounting Billing Coordinator at the Millennium Times Square Hotel in Manhattan.
Nigel was well-known and well-loved for his open personality for his instinct to tinker, to explore, and to enjoy all aspects of life to the fullest. He loved classic cars, fixing and driving them, going to races and shows; he attended the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Montreal regularly and followed the sport passionately; he had the hands-on ability to make any car—and just about anything else—work faster. He loved playing field hockey (he was a member and fan of Old Fort Hockey Club (OFHC)), cricket, traveling and socializing widely. He remained connected to his roots and travelled frequently back to his native Guyana and other Caribbean destinations to visit with friends and family. Nigel was known to be fun, stylish, a good friend, and a loving, devoted parent. He gladly shared his time and talents with his friends and family and was
beloved by all. Nigel will always be remembered laughing with his characteristic smile on his face.
He was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Doreen, and his brother Charles, Jr. He is survived by his children Keanu and Paris, three of his brothers, Dr. Michael Miller of Canada, Regan Miller of CA and Claude (Orrin) Miller of NY, his four sisters, Dr. Sandrene Miller of NJ, Marlyn (Ann) Holder of PA, Joanne Sechrest of WA and Maxine (Jewel) Johnston of NJ, and by many nieces and nephews. He will be remembered fondly by his family and those others who found him a source of love and support in their lives.
All mourn his passing and pray for the happy repose of his soul.
Requiem aeternam dona eis, Domine, et lux perpetuat luceat eis. Requiescant in pace.
