George W. Atterbury, 81 passed away on Tuesday September 10, 2019 at NJ Veteran Memorial Home in Edison. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the  Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 217 Prospect Street, S. Orange on Sat, Sept 14th at 9:30 AM. Entombment at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union. Mr. Atterbury was born in Coventry, England and lived in South Orange for 50 years before moving to Florham Park. He served in The United States Army as an airplane mechanic from 1956-1962. He then worked for Pan Am Airlines as a Supervisor of Engine Overhaul for 35 years until his retirement in 1992. Mr. Atterbury was a former member of Masons Scottish Rites of South Orange. He is survived by his beloved wife Emilia, his children James (Michelle), Robert (Leah), Joseph (Elizabeth) and Patricia (Jonathan), brothers David and John Atterbury and grandchildren Sean, Jaelyn, Kira, Melissa, Christopher, Dillon, Shane, Liana, Kyle and Karly.  In lieu of flowers donations to Alzeimer's Association Of NJ, 425 Eagle Rock Ave, Suite 203, Roseland, NJ 07068 or St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905 would be appreciated.
