Obituary of Henry B. Wojner

Henry Wojner, 94, of Short Hills, NJ, passed away, Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at his home peacefully.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Rose of Lima Church, 50 Short Hills Ave, Short Hills on Tues, Oct 1st at 10:00 AM. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, East Orange. Visitation will be held at The Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home 2122 Millburn Ave, Maplewood on Monday, Sept 30th from 7:00 – 9:00 PM.

Henry was born September 15, 1925, in Poznan, Poland. The oldest of five children, he is predeceased in death by three sisters and one brother.

In 1944, at the age of 19, he was called to war.  Following the end of WWII he immigrated to Newark, NJ where he met and fell in love and married the girl across the street, Elaine Paprota. Together they established Henry’s Slipcovers, Upholstery and Drapery which became a premier interior design workroom in the NY area for over 40 years. Henry truly lived the American Dream and never missed a day of work. He had a heart of gold and loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, following the financial markets, gardening and reading.

Henry is survived by Elaine, his devoted wife of 69 years, son, Eric Wojner and his partner, Diana Gaines of The Woodlands, TX, daughter, Heide Schmidt-Cruz and her husband, Antonio of Lisbon, Portugal. He was a proud grandfather of Corinne Vrazel and her husband, Daniel of Birmingham, AL, Alexis Wojner of Scottsdale, AZ and Ian Cruz of Lisbon, Portugal. Additionally, a great-grandson, Dash Vrazel of Birmingham, AL as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
