Obituary of Ruth Elizabeth de Pinho

Ruth Elizabeth de Pinho (nee Kopko), age 93, formerly of Newark/Ivy Hill, NJ, passed away on Monday, September 30, 2019.  Ruth was born on November 22, 1925 in Newark, NJ to John and Helen Kopko.  She attended Eastside HS and later worked as a clerk for the Veterans Administration in Newark/East Orange for 40 years.  Ruth made an unforgettable impression on those she met.  She enjoyed taking the bus downtown, walking around South Orange/Irvington and playing the lottery.  Preceded in death by her parents John and Helen Kopko, sister Mary Mikalus and husband Paul, brothers Albert Kopko and Thomas Kopko, and nephews Reuben Mikalus and Alex Eliot.  She is survived by her son Rick de Pinho and wife Wendy, brother George Kopko, brother Ben Kopko and wife Janice, sister-in-law Doris Kopko and many nieces and nephews.   A graveside funeral service will be held at 1pm on Friday, October 4th at Restland Memorial Park, 77 Deforest Ave, East Hanover, NJ 07936 with arrangements by Preston Funeral Home, South Orange.  A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 23rd at 5 pm at the Newark Seventh-Day Adventist Church at 202 Norman Rd, Newark, NJ 07106.
