Obituary of Pia Petroccia

Pia Petroccia (nee Tomaselli), 90, formerly of East Orange, NJ passed away on November 12, 2019 at Trinity Elms Assisted Living in Clemmons, NC. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Holy Name of Jesus, 200 Midland Avenue, East Orange on Wednesday, November 20th   at 10:30 AM. Interment will be at St. John's Cemetery, Orange.  Visitation will be held at Preston Funeral Home 153 South Orange Avenue, South Orange on Tuesday, 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Pia was born in San Marco dei Cavoti, Italy and lived in Orange, East Orange and at Marian Manor in Caldwell before moving to Clemmons, NC.  She worked as a seamstress for 30 years with various companies in the Oranges. She was a member of the International Garment Workers Union. Pia loved serving as a sacristan for Holy Name Church and Marian Manor. She enjoyed knitting, cooking and being around her family, friends and neighbors. Whether serving homemade manicotti, almond biscotti, or a package of Stella D’oro cookies, visitors were sure to leave with a light heart and full stomach.

Pia was predeceased by her husband Theodore Petroccia, daughter Antoinette and her brothers Angelo and Anthony Tomaselli. She is survived by her sons  John (Mary Ann) Petroccia and Vincent (Elizabeth) Petroccia, grandchildren Jacqueline (Brent) Frederick, Michael Petroccia, Catherine (Philip Radcliffe) Petroccia and Grace Petroccia, and great-grandson Theodore James Frederick.
