Obituary of Mark Mahony

Mark  Mahony, 62, of Maplewood passed away at University Hospital on December 12, 2019.

The family will be receiving friends at Preston Funeral Home, 153 South Orange Ave, South Orange, NJ on Sunday, December 15 from 3:00 – 6:00 PM.  A memorial service will be held at  Morrow Memorial Church, 600 Ridgewood Road,  Maplewood, NJ on Monday, December 16 at 11:00 AM. Internment is private. In lieu of flowers, donations to MEND Hunger Relief Network  and the Organization for Autism Research would be appreciated.  

Mark was born in Bergen County and lived in Maplewood for the past 34 years. He received his degree in accounting from Mount St. Mary’s University in Maryland and worked in real estate at Gladiator LLC in South Orange.

Mark is survived by his wife Eileen Mahony; children Caitlin, Matthew, and Kerry; son-in-law Robert Gallagher; daughter-in-law Sheila Mahony; siblings Juliann, Arthur, and Thomas Mahony and Meaghan Mathews; father-in-law Thomas McCrink; siblings-in-law Cathy and Bill Bogert, Peg and Joe Hall, Thomas and Nancy McCrink, and Beth McCrink; nieces and nephews Kelly, Shauna, Bill, David, Kevin, Tom, Colleen, Catherine, Brittany, Joe, Katie, Meghan, Michael, Jack, Liam, Ciaran, and Finbar, and their many spouses and children.

Mark loved a long bike ride and a Dunkin’ Donuts iced tea, but most of all sharing laughs with his family and friends.
