Obituary of Ernestina B. Lacy

uErnestina B.  Lacy, of South Orange passed away at St. Barnabas Hospital on Feb 23, 2020. The family will be receiving friends at Preston Funeral Home 153 South Orange Ave, South Orange on Saturday, Feb 29th from 9:30 – 10:30 AM followed by a prayer service at 10:30 AM. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, E. Hanover. Ernestina was born in Dona Ana New Mexico and has lived in South Orange since 1986. She received her bachelor’s degree from Our Lady of the Lake University, San Antonio, Texas and her Master’s degree in Reading from University of Texas at El Paso. Earlier in her life she was a missionary and later became a nun. Ernestina was a devout Christian serving as a sacristan and Eucharistic minister at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in South Orange for many years. She is survived by her beloved husband Ocie Lacy, son   Paul Lacy, siblings Rosalie Maese, Angelina O’Rouke, Raymond and Rudy Banegas and a host of many relatives and friends nationwide and abroad.
