TRIBUTE FROM JOSEPH COOMSON (UNCLE KUMI)
I got to know Vincentia N. Lewis (Nana Esi) as I have known and called her through a late friend of mine's family when I moved here. I am a witness to the care she gave to people who were in need of help irrespective of the hardships she had to go through to give the help. This is a human pearl in this age of me, me and me. Yet, I did not see it. This reminds me of the story in The Holy Bible about two of Jesus Christ's followers who were walking with Him after His resurrection discussing the crucified Christ and not knowing that the stranger they are conversing with is the resurrected Christ. Some of us get it after the fact. I am yet to meet a Christian who confesses his or her sins for his or her inability to go to church on a Sunday. Nana Esi did. Apart from her devotion to the Catholic faith, she was also involved in a number of faith-based organization for the poor and the needy. Nana Esi will easily go the extra mile with you with a smile whenever you are ready. The very Holy Bible (Catholic version, of course) that I use for my morning devotions was given to me by Nana Esi irrespective of the various versions of the Protestant bibles that I have. Incidenally, I am a deeply rooted Protestant (Methodist)!
Nana Esi, you have fought the good fight, you have finished the race, you have kept the faith. There is laid up for you the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award you on that day. [2Tim. 4: 7-8] Do Rest In Perfect Peace.
