Our hearts are broken and our thoughts and prayers are with you, Kathy, Brian and Greg, as you mourn the loss of your beloved. We remember fondly all the many wonderful times the Tousleys shared with the Kobbergers, both as a foursome and together with our blended families.
We remember the guys’ trips to Maine, and the time when their over-loaded boat (with all the kids aboard) began to sink, and Bob’s brother Ralph calmly observed, “Bob, I think we’re taking on some water.”
We remember how the weather always played a part in our adventures. There’s the time our trip to Ann Arbor to visit Chris during his first year at Michigan got delayed by a hurricane ~ but we managed to get there in time for the football game. Or the time we traveled to Rhode Island when the roads got washed out in the rain. Or at Sleeping Bear sand dunes when we ran into the wedding party trying to take pictures as the bride was nearly blown away in the wind and rain. And of course the March blizzard that forced Brian and Charlotte to postpone their wedding until the next day!
Such wonderful times we shared: Christmases with you at your homes on Overlook and Meadowbrook in Short Hills; the horse races at Belmont and Monmouth Parks; watching the fireworks over the Statue of Liberty on the shores of the Hudson River; touring the mansions in Newport RI and visiting Kathy’s Salve Regina University; whale watching off the coast of Gloucester MA; our shopping trip to Kittery ME when you found your Grandmother clock; taking in the beautiful red rocks in Sedona during your trip to “The Tousley Resort and Conference Center” in Scottsdale AZ; listening to the choir at the majestic cathedral in Newark NJ at Christmastime; freezing with you on the streets of New York when we visited Ground Zero and walked down Fifth Avenue; the time Bob smooched the Moose at Sleder’s in Traverse City MI ~ and on and on.
The years we had together are among the happiest of our lives, and we will cherish them forever. It’s been said that no one really dies who is remembered with love, and that is how we will always remember Bob.
With heartfelt sympathy and love, Marty and Michael ♥

Dear Kathy and family,
I am so sorry for your loss. I can't imagine what you must be feeling but I can imagine how proud and joyful the relationship was that you shared with Bob during better days.
Bob was a special man who had a wonderful way of lifting everyone's spirits. For Bob, every day was a beautiful day and he went out of his way to share that enthusiasm with the world by complimenting others, making jokes and listening intently to others as though they were the most important person in the world.
He appreciated everything he had--a loving family, wife, kids and grandkids and often expressed that gratitude to us.
I will fondly remember him and his love for the beach, language and culture, and of course, cookies. I feel privileged to have known Bob and will always hold a special place in my heart for him.
Sincerely,
Lisa Tognola

Bob and I became best friends while he was at ITT Marlow Pumps in Midland Park NJ. We played lots of racketball and it was always fun. He had such a great sense of humor and upbeat attitude. I fell in love with Kathy and told him how lucky he was...our paths then went separate ways, but we did stay in touch through the years. It is very sad that he is gone, but I will always remember him as a dear friend. RIP Bob...

I worked with Bob for 18 years when we both worked for ITT, and I have always appreciated Bob's help in giving me my career.
Bob's kindness and decency as a human being is my everlasting memory of him.
His devotion and love for his family was always evident and seeing the pictures of Kathy and him, along with all of his family is evidence of a life well lived.

Dear Bob,
I'm sitting here, and even after several days I can't believe it, you're not supposed to be with us anymore.
My memories of you are only positive! Your friendly, warm and funny nature has always infected me and everyone else in the room. You were so inquisitive, smart, open-minded, active, charming and the best cookie-eater in the world.
I am so grateful to you and Kathy for every day with you during my Au-Pair year. Without you, I would not have had such great memories this year. You gave me such a wonderful time and were always so generous and warm. I also carry your last visit in Winkels in my heart. The rainbow on your last day says it all. Your connection with Germany was heartwarming.
Bob, you were like a grandfather to me, whom I will always carry in my heart. Jannik also took you to his heart after a short time and misses you too. When I think about you not making it to our wedding, it breaks my heart. How I would love to see you again, laugh with you and enjoy a cookie with you after a day on the beach.
I hope and pray that you are well where you are now and that you will look after us from there. We miss you so much!
In great gratitude for the time we spent together and in great love
your Caterina with Jannik

Dear Kathy
I am so sad. I can not imagine how hard it has been for both of you the
past years, months and now Bob left us. But we are so happy that we
could be with you and Bob for the last time in January. We knew it could
be the last time. We have so many beautiful memories! I can not say much
more than: I will keep him in my heart.

Maybe 1959-1960 Bob and I and some other NCE Pi Kappa Phis moved the Kobberger family player piano from Irvington to Belleville where we removed part of a wall to get it into our place. In 1961 when I graduated the piano went to Curundu in the Panama Canal Zone where it had to stay in the carport as it couldn't go in the building. Sold to an Army Sergeant when we returned. Great days and memories held open by e-mails for all these years regretfully without meeting.
Will pass on to the Pi Kapps on my e-mail list. Please advise of funeral mass and I'll pass on in case.
Mason Ford - masonford@verizon.net - Also Air Force 1952-1956 - NCE on GI Bill married three children on graduation - Wife Sonia has only NCE PhT (Pushed Hubby Through) Summa Cum Laude degree (for the 3 children).
Great days and great memories.

Dear Kathy and family,
So sorry to learn of Bob's passing.
Although I spent many years working with Bob during his ITT years and seeing his passion toward the well being of the business, there was no doubt that Bob's first and overriding devotion was to his family.
Gail and I are pleased to see the photos of your close knit family and wish you well!
With deepest sympathy,
Keith and Gail Grgurich

I remember Bob calling Kathy every five minutes when he was out on an errand. His sons followed suit. It was a family tradition?!

Dad, you were always there when we needed you. This first to come and rescue me with car keys when I locked them in my car or house! Ready to handle your grand children at a moments notice! You taught me invaluable beach chair placement skills.
Found a sand dollar the other day and every time I hear the word flotilla, you will be remembered and missed. Love you Dad
