Thomas “Tom” M. Walsh, 64, of Springfield passed away on Tuesday July 14, 2020 in Scotch Plains. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. James Church, 45 S. Springfield Ave., Springfield on Friday July 17th at 10AM. Visitation will be held at The Jacob Holle Funeral Home, 2122 Millburn Ave., Maplewood on Thursday from 5-8 PM. Interment private.
Mr. Walsh was raised in Bloomfield and lived in Springfield for the past 35 years. He was a technician for Verizon in Millburn and Union for 38 years, retiring in 2015. Tom loved to watch High School baseball especially when his son Tommy was playing. He was also an avid Penn State Football fan and enjoyed spending summers surf fishing at Chadwick Beach.
He was predeceased by his father William Walsh. He is survived by he wife Mary Birch Walsh, his son Tommy, his mother Jean Walsh and his siblings William (Billy) Walsh, Cathy Leone, Brian Walsh and Jean Marie McGreal. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. In lieu of flowers donations to the Springfield First Aid Squad, 10 N. Trivett Ave., Springfield, NJ 07081 would be appreciated.
