We will never forget Aunt Pat. Her never-ending cheerful spirit always brought back wonderful childhood memories. Thanks to Uncle Edmund (the pictures) for visually preserving some of them.

Donald - these are by far some of our favorite memories. I feel like I'm back in the moment. I would have expected Uncle Ed to save these. We will need to have a picnic next summer with our families and perhaps we could some how show the home movie he always played for us. Wonderful parents and a special childhood indeed.

Donald, thanks very much for posting these! What great photos Uncle Ed took. I never saw these. So great to see all of our parents in these amazing images. Everyone is so young, I really love this! Uncle Ed, Aunt Helen, Uncle Charlie and Aunt Anita are just as I remember them in these photos.

I was proud and honored to be Pat's colleague in the Millburn School District. "Warm, friendly personality" are three words that could not be more apt for this gracious, professional lady. Her beautiful speaking voice always added to her charm. I was pleased that her enjoyment of "teacher luncheons" during her retirement was mentioned in the write-up. I loved seeing Pat at these MRE gatherings, and her sincere interest in my family updates (she got a kick out of my two kids both becoming ministers as I maintained my Catholic roots!) never failed to move me. Rest is Peace, dear Pat - you were a treasure!

Thank you for sharing this story. She did speak about you and your special friendship. Pat definitely kept her Catholic roots- we went to mass together every Sunday with her grandchild up here on the North Shore. The pandemic was so hard as she missed mass and also wanted so to get back to New Jersey to see her teacher friends.

I have such fond memories of Mrs Neu- been privileged to know this wonderful family since I was 11! I remember so many afternoons in their living room and getting excited about our prom dresses.... And visits to say hi during college breaks... And of course Carolyn's wedding, the Neu's were so worried about me being 7 months pregnant when I wanted to help someone who had passed out... One of my most recent and fondest memories was seeing Mr and Mrs Neu spending time with my son Devon and Laura after Thanksgiving- they had so much fun and it was so neat to see them enjoy the next generation and for my son to get to know friends that were so dear to me....
Mrs Neu, you will be missed by many but the memories will live on... and we will cherish them and think of you and smile... and feel blessed that our lives were brighter because you were in them..
"May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be always at your back... And until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand"... Love and Blessings to the Neu family. Maria O'Neill Gray

Sending prayers to you and your family. So glad my younger sister Darcey wore the Boston College sweatshirt I gave her to Glenwood School and your mom stopped her in the hallway which led to our friendship that is going on 30+ years.

Chrissy - I so appreciate this story. I love you and the BC girls - my mother always loved hearing about our friendship and the support you gave me as a new student. She went to many of the BC reunions with me and was so pleased that I have a wonderful group of friends.

We had a beautiful mass with just the immediate family on August 5th, the day of the Miracle of the Snows. My mother was very devoted to Mary and prayed to her often. She was so pleased to name me Carolyn Mary. My mother told her children and grandchildren to always be givers and I encourage you to read the story of Mary Major; https://beforeitsnews.com/christian-news/2020/08/the-dedication-of-st-mary-major-2-2587861.html, Now I know why we received so many white roses this week. https://www.op.org/st-mary-major/ - some day we'll visit.

We will never forget dancing lessons with Jackie Schrage and Emil, being the serious student, took careful notes of the sequence of steps....and later we all wished we had done the same!
Pat would walk into my classroom, observe a student, and within minutes have several suggestions for me. She was a treasure!
So many memories we have of such a warm and gracious lady.
Our wish to you is that these loving memories will help you smile again.

I’m terribly sorry to hear of Mrs. Neu’s passing. I will remember her as a bright light with a warm and friendly personality. She always welcomed me into her home and shared stories that made me smile. Knowing that I was studying to be a nurse, she stepped in to help guide me to secure my first job in healthcare as a nurse’s aide at Morristown Memorial Hospital during my college breaks. I offer my sincere condolences to all of you and send thoughts of love and peace to your family. May her memory be a blessing. XO, Suzanne Alterman

Thank you my dear Lisa for bringing my mother her dress that she wore to my brother's wedding in Bayhead. She said it reminded her of the ocean and had a small pull in it but would keep it to remind us that people and life aren't perfect and that is ok. She loved you and your family - she was so proud of you. Please enjoy Maplewood everyday for her.

Emil, David, Ted and Carolyn, I am saddened by the notice of Pat's passing, my sincere condolences to all of you. We have such fond memories of our neighborhood in Maplewood. You were so kind to our son Rudy especially including him with your family on a vacation to the lake one summer. What a wonderful place for our children to have grown up in with so many good friends and wonderful neighbors. Thank you Carolyn for the opportunity to speak to Pat a while ago and to catch up a bit on each others family, she was a fun and interesting lady who dearly loved her family. May those memories of happier times be a comfort to you now and in the days to follow. Sincerely, Bonnie Reynolds
