Obituary of Frederica "Pearl" Pilgrim

Frederica “Pearl” Pilgrim, 82, passed away on October 29, 2022 at Holy Name Hospital in Teaneck, NJ.

Visitation will be held at Preston Funeral Home 153 South Orange Ave South Orange, NJ  on Friday, Nov 4^th from 10:00-11:45 AM followed by a service at  12:00 PM. Interment to follow at Rosedale Cemetery in Montclair.  

Pearl was born in Princess Town, Trinidad, West Indies and lived in Somerset NJ, Fort Worth TX, and Teaneck NJ. She graduated Thomas Edison State College in 1988 with a BS in Medical Laboratory Science. Pearl worked as an ASCP certified Medical Technologist specializing in Hematology for over 33 years at St. Michael’s Medical Center in Newark, retiring in 2002.

Pearl was predeceased by her husband Algernon Pilgrim. She is survived by her children   Patricia States, Franklyn Pilgrim (Deabra), Brian Pilgrim (Hope) and Alicia Pilgrim-Duchatelier (Obed). She was the proud grandmother of 12, and great-grandmother of 6.
