Obituary of Douglas F. Wolski

Douglas F. Wolski, 54 of Maplewood, NJ, passed away on October 10, 2023, at St. Barnabas Hospital, Livingston.

Doug was born in Orange, NJ, but spent most of his life in Maplewood-a town he came to take great pride in and consider his home. A high achiever even at a young age, Doug earned his Eagle Scout Award as a member of Troop 21 in Maplewood. Later in life he would serve as the troop's Scoutmaster.

He graduated from Seton Hall Prep in 1986, and felt such a close connection to his alma mater that he was a generous benefactor throughout his lifetime, making the schools' Dean's Club of Donors. In 1990, he earned his Bachelors of Arts degree in Economics from Rutgers University.

Quickly, Doug established himself as a leader in the field of commercial real estate. He rose through the ranks to become Vice President of Prudential Real Estate Investors and The U.S. Residential Group at AIG Global Real Estate. Later, he served as Director at Clarion Partners and Managing Director of Portfolio Management at Waypoint Residential.

While Doug liked his work and excelled in his field, his greatest love was his family. In 1991, he married Wendy Farnam, and they embarked on a decade-long journey of travel and adventure. There were European vacations, a cruise to Greece, and numerous trips to Oktoberfest.

When twins Devon and Duncan arrived in 2007, the nature of those trips changed-to Disneyworld, Cancun and family vacations at the beach-but they were no less adventurous. Doug was a traveler at heart, as well as a loving and devoted father whose children meant everything to him.

Doug had a joyful, boisterous laugh that he generously shared with everyone close enough to hear his hilarious stories. He was also an avid reader and history lover. Those closest to him remember him as an outgoing and generous host who loved to see the world, play Ultimate Frisbee, and strum the guitar to entertain his children.

Doug was everything to everyone who knew him best. He was a devoted father and loving brother, uncle, and friend to the many who will miss him. Doug is survived by his children Devon and Duncan Wolski, his sister Maria Constantin and his former wife Wendy Farnam Wolski. He is preceded in death by his parents Doris and Dr. Edmund P. Wolski, and by his brothers Edmund A., and Richard Wolski.

A memorial visitation will be held at The Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home 2122 Millburn Ave, Maplewood on Tues, October 17th from 5:00 - 8:00 PM. To celebrate Doug's life, a Memorial Mass will be held at St. Rose of Lima Church, 50 Short Hills Avenue, Short Hills on Wednesday, October 18th at 11:00 AM

In lieu of flowers, donations toward his twins' education can be made here.
