Marina Patricia White, 88, of West Orange, New Jersey passed away on December 20, 2023 at  St. Barnabas Hospital, Livingston.

 

“Mrs. White,” “Ms. Pat,” “Pat,” “Patsy,” “MP,” “Auntie Pat,” “Nana” was born in Houston, Guyana, South America  and has lived in West Orange for the past 23 years. She graduated from the University of West Indies where she received her Bachelor of Education and she also studied Special Ed in Edinburgh, Scotland. Prior to her retirement in 1999, Marina held several leadership roles in Deaf Education on the island of Jamaica and last worked as Principal for St. Christopher's School For The Deaf in Brown’s Town, St. Ann, Jamaica (West Indies).

 

Marina is survived by her daughter, niece and caregiver Dianne Andrea Rocke-Greene, granddaughter Chelsea Greene, brother Ian Rocke, nieces Zoisa Rocke-Hill, Sharon Reid-Leverette (UK), Regina Rocke and nephew, Stephen  Rocke. She is predeceased by her mother Mary Rocke (Mommy Rocke), father Stanley Dean, stepfather Athelston Rocke (Daddy Rocke), husband Herbert White and brothers Michael Reid and James Rocke.

 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 6th at St. Andrew and Holy Communion Episcopal Church in South Orange, NJ.
