I was close friends with John or Shake (nickname) as we called him. We grew up 2 blocks from each other and we both had a love for basketball. We played countless hours at nearbu Memorial Park and then for the 7th and 8th grade Maplewood town travel team and Suburban League. We alo were Co-Captains of our 9th grade Columbia High School team before John transferred to Our Lady of the Valley High School. I haven't seen Shake in many years but he was a outstanding ballplayer and most of all a great guy. He will be missed but not forgotten. God Bless you John and your beautiful family. John went by Shake when we were growing up. Great guy great hoop player. Hadn't seen him in years but would never forget. So sorry to learn of his passing leaving behind a beautiful family.
