Born in Fair Haven, CT, Albert lived in Short Hills for 32 years before moving to Millington in 2006. He was a 1956 graduate of the University of Notre Dame, with a B.A. in English Literature. He then served in the U.S. Navy from 1957 until 1959. Albert began his professional career as a journalist and later worked in the advertising industry. For 37 years starting in 1971, he was the owner and CEO of Par Communications LTD in Manhattan; the firm created ads for clients including Longines watches and Linens 'n Things.
After closing his business, Albert taught a communications course at the girls' high school Marylawn of the Oranges in South Orange, New Jersey, and went on to serve on the school's board of trustees. His proudest accomplishment at Marylawn was creating the Speakers Program, under which he invited more than 60 successful women in a range of fields to offer inspiration and encouragement to the students. For 19 years, Albert volunteered for the hunger-relief organization Share Our Strength, and in 2004 he was honored for raising more funds than any other member on the board of SOS's Northern New Jersey chapter.
Albert was an avid lover of literature and the arts. In his retirement he wrote two novels, Giuliana's Way (2014) and Potter Hill (2017), and took up painting, creating 250 acrylic works starting in the early 2000s. With his beloved wife, Carol, he owned a second home in Manchester, VT. Albert and Carol traveled widely and loved taking in art, architecture, and culinary delights from around the country and around the world.
Albert, who cherished nothing more than his family and his many dear friends, is survived by his wife, Carol Feleppa Parillo; his children, Pamela Carey, Sue Parillo, Karen Parillo, and Albert Michael Parillo Jr.; his granddaughter, Zoe Cardiff; his sister Grace Gerard; and his brother, Robert Parillo.
