Obituary of Victor N. Carless

Victor Norman Carless, 75, of Wethersfield, CT
Formerly of Orefield, Pennsylvania, Buffalo, New York and Maplewood, New Jersey.

Victor Norman Carless, 75, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones. Born in Kingston, Jamaica, he attended Greenwich Primary School and Kingston College in his youth. Victor pursued his passion for engineering, earning a Bachelor's degree from the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine and a Master's degree in Engineering from NJIT. He also pursued an MBA at Canisius University in Buffalo, New York. He went on to have a distinguished career as a project engineer manager with Kraft Foods.

Victor will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife, Janette McLean-Carless; his cherished daughters, Miquel Carless-Smith and Marsha Carless; his son-in-law, W. Ronnell Smith; and three beloved grandchildren, W. Kyle Smith, Cade Smith and Kian Smith. He is also survived by his brothers Everton, Donovan, Lenworth, Treverald and Wayne Carless, his sisters- in-law, brothers- in-law, many nieces and nephews as well as numerous relatives & friends.

In honor of Victor's memory, the family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Lupus Foundation of America, (lupus.org), a cause close to his heart.

A celebration of Victor's life will be held at The Episcopal Church of St. Andrew and Holy Communion, 160 W. South Orange Ave, South Orange, NJ on Saturday, Dec 21st at 9:30 AM. Visitation will be held at Preston Funeral Home, 153 South Orange Ave, South Orange, NJ on Friday, Dec 20th from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and at Church on Saturday from 9:00 – 9:30 AM. Interment to follow at Hollywood Memorial Park & Cemetery in Union, NJ.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
