Uncle Steve was my much-loved uncle. My memories of him span almost 50 years. He was kind and gentle with a dry wit--he loved talking about politics and sports. My Dad and he had a special relationship and I think saw eye to eye on most things. He took care of his mother, my Grandma, with so much tenderness and compassion and was a role model for me in selfless love. We wished he had been able to visit us overseas--he had an adventurous and inquisitive nature and would have loved it. We are so sorry that we will miss his funeral. There is no doubt he is in the loving embrace of our Lord--and he can finally enjoy all the beer and seafood in heaven!
