My deepest sympathies to Joan's family. I have very fond memories of Joan on the go with her skates or getting ready for a ballroom competition or setting out a holiday meal. When I visited her daughter, Susan, Joan always welcomed me with the warmest hospitality. As I said to Susan, "She was a glamorous chic." Rest in Peace, Joan.

Susan, Sandy ,and Greg,
Please accept our sincere condolences. Joan was a wonderful woman. I remember fondly all of the Christmases in Richmond Hill and my childhood trips to Staten Island to visit Joan and Lou, as well as Ginger, Mickey, and Me Too. And, twenty-five years later, people still mention that amazing woman and her partner who danced so beautifully at our wedding.
I like to think that Joan and Lou and having a drink and that Peggy is arranging the welcoming party.
Best wishes,
Bob and Rita Tilton

Susan and Sandra - Your Mom was a true treasure, a vibrant and vivacious personality who my Mom, Ella, Dad, Sherman, sister Wendy and I loved dearly. The Aussies who came to America as war brides had their "network" and their accents got thicker every phone call that they had with each other! May you always remember the great skater and dancer and your "Waltzing Matilda" Love Allan Ader and Family

My heartfelt condolences to you, Susan, Sandy and Greg. What a tragic loss to the family and Joan's friends. She was a special person, touching our lives with her warm and beautiful friendship. I will always remember our two trips to the World Ice Championships, Davos, Sun Valley and her many trips visiting us in Florida. Her outstanding talents in skating and ballroom dancing will be remembered forever by her many friends. Joan will always have a special place in my heart.

Dear Susuan and Sandy, My deepest condolences to you both. I still laugh when I think of Joan saying to Susan and me before we were to go out "Remember Isadora Duncan, girls". We were then in the age of miniskirts, maxicoats, and long, long scarves. I am grateful I saw her when I visited Susan and Nigel 2 years ago. Of course, her makeup and all was perfect.

I was lucky enough to get to know Joan from her many visits to South Florida, when we would all skate together. She was such an upbeat, fun, positive person who certainly brightened up even the dreariest of rinks when she stepped on the ice. My condolences to all of you. Wish there were more people in this world like your Mom!!!!!!!!!
