Joan Alison Fuller died on April 23, 2011 at her home in West Orange after a long debilitating struggle with progressive supranuclear palsy.

Joan was a life long athlete who learned to skate and do gymnastics as a young girl growing up in the suburbs of Melbourne, Australia and continued to enjoy skating well into her later years. She also loved ballroom dancing and successfully competed in many competitions. She was an enthusiastic and adventurous traveler whose many trips included a trek in the Himalayas of Nepal, a cruise down the Dnieper River into the Black Sea during the Soviet era, and a visit to the Iguaçu Falls between Brazil and Argentina. She and her late husband, Louis Fuller, resided on Staten Island, New York, before moving to Jakarta, Indonesia where they lived for several years until his death in 1981.
She is survived by her daughters, Susan G. Brint and the makeup artist, Sandy Linter, and her grandson, Gregory C. Gilman.
