Anthony Di Giovanni, 88, of Brick, N.J., passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at home. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Rose of Lima Church, 50 Short Hills Ave., Short Hills, N.J., on Monday, Aug. 1, at 10 a.m. Interment is in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. Visitation will be held at the Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home, 2122 Millburn Ave., Maplewood, N.J., on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations to Bonnie Brae Development Office 3415 Valley Road, PO Box 825, Liberty Corner, NJ 07983-0825, Att Canada Trip would be appreciated.For more information or to send condolences, please visit jacobhollefuneralhome.com. Born in Vaux Hall, N.J., Mr. Di Giovanni lived in Brick for 20 years. He was a self-employed painting contractor for most of his life before retiring in 1991. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a private first class in World War II and saw military action in the South Pacific. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion, Millburn post. He was also a former trustee and usher at St. Rose of Lima Church and a grand knight with the Knights of Columbus Council No. 6386 at the church, and a former scoutmaster and committee chairman of Boy Scouts Troop 17 of Short Hills. Mr. Di Giovanni was the beloved husband of Angela Cusano Di Giovanni; devoted father of Louis DiGiovanni and his wife, Diane, and loving grandfather of Regina DiGiovanni.
