Obituary of Eugene Carson

Eugene Carson Newark postal worker, longtime Maplewood resident, 82 Eugene Carson, 82, of Maplewood, N.J., passed away Sunday night, Dec. 21, 2014, at home, surrounded by his family. The family will be receiving friends at The Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home, 2122 Millburn Ave., Maplewood, N.J., on Saturday, Dec 27, from 2 to 4 p.m., with a brief service at 4 p.m. Interment is private. He attended Newark's Barringer High School, where he graduated in 1948. Eugene was also a U.S. Army veteran and for the past 50- plus years, had resided in Maplewood, where he and his wife raised their family. Eugene was predeceased by his wife, Minalee Carson; his sister, Wilda Fonden, and hs brother, Jack Carson. He is survived by his sister, Cynthia Pappas; his three sons, Vincent, Thomas and John; his two daughters-in-law, Dawn and Karen, as well as his seven grandchildren, Sean, Christopher, Brian, Kyle, Carrianne, Anjelica and Jane Carson. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105-1905, would be appreciated.
