Captain David J. Marsh, 64, of Millburn died on March 13, 2008, in Overlook Hospital, Summit. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Rose of Lima Church, 50 Short Hills Ave., Short Hills, on Monday, March 17, at 10 a.m. Interment is in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. Visitation will be held at the Jacob A. Born in Orange, Capt. Marsh lived in Millburn for 33 years. He joined the Millburn Fire Department in 1975 and retired as a captain in 2000. Capt. Marsh was a delegate to the Millburn Firemens Relief Association, a volunteer director of the Millburn Red Cross and a member of the Millburn FMBA No. 32. He was a founder and past president of the Millburn Wrestling Boosters, a Millburn Little League chair parent, and a member of the Knights of Columbus at St. Rose of Lima parish. A U.S. Air Force veteran, he served from 1963 to 1967, in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the American Legion Guy Bosworth Post 140 in Millburn and the Amvets.
He was the beloved husband of Catherine Wanamaker Marsh; devoted father of Joseph D. and his wife, Kathleen, Gregory J., and Karen A. Marsh; loving grandfather of Ryan and Sarah Marsh; dear brother of Jo Ann Witkowski, Elinora Marsh, his twin brother Michael Marsh, Kathleen Stramara, Gary and Guy Marsh.
