Obituary of Imogene M. Johnson

Imogene M. King Johnson, 80, of Springfield, N.J.,
died on Sunday, March 27, 2011. The public viewing
for family and friends will be held on Monday, April 4, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Preston Funeral Home, 153 South Orange Ave., South Orange, N.J. A funeral service will be held immediately thereafter at 7 p.m., also at Preston Funeral Home. Interment is private.
Born in Chicago, Ill., Ms. Johnson lived in Springfield for 25 years. She was a principal for the Orange (N.J.) Board of Education at the Cleveland and Central elementary schools, where she worked for 40 years before retiring in 2000. She received a B.A. in elementary education from the University of Illinois and a master's degree in special education at Columbia University.
She was the devoted mother of Keisha Williams; loving grandmother of Kierra and Ronald Easley and Skyler Williams.
