Dear Chick, It's your first night in heaven! I know it’s what you wanted. I picture you and Lucille dancing, unencumbered by the toll of age. I see you feasting at the only table finer than Marios. Your mom and dad are there. So are your siblings. Everyone is celebrating. We are happy for you -- But not for us. You left a big hole in our hearts. Molly knows the angels came for you. But she wants to know if you will be at her piano recital this weekend. I know you will - just like always. You were part of our family and will continue to be. You introduced us to Natale’s and the most fabulous pound cake ever. And their donuts. Lemon meringue pie; key lime pie. And did I say donuts? You showed us every possible short cut in town to avoid traffic. You came to every school play and parade.

You were the first one ever to see Molly. I will always remember that ultrasound and the special bond you had with her starting when you first laid eyes on our princess! The Jimmy Durante lullabies. How you rocked her for hours on end. I hope she marries someone who will love her half as much as you. Bottomless milkshakes, watermelon and strawberries Steaks at Rod’s. Pancakes at the diner. Manhattans A hot dog with mustard. Budweiser without a glass. Chocolate cake. A ball game. We will always remember you. Molly wants to know if she can have another sleep over this weekend Will you come visit her in her dreams? I know it's your first night in heaven Chick. Have fun and save a dance for me. In due time. Fox Hill Lane is lonelier without you up the street Until we meet again, Happy Days my friend!
