Obituary of Arthur F. Cardone

Arthur F. Cardone, 105, a lifelong Short Hills, N.J., resident, passed away on May 17, 2016, at home.
Born in Millburn, N.J., Arthur was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during World War II. He graduated from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania in 1936 and also studied at New Jersey Law School. From 1934 to 1979, he owned Mario's Restaurant in Millburn before retiring. Arthur was a parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Church, Short Hills. He was also a past member of the Spring Lake Golf and Country Club and the Spring Lake Bath and Tennis Club.
Arthur was the beloved husband of the late Lucille (Haugh) Cardone; loving father of Gordon Van Wagner, and dear grandfather of Taylor and Sunshine Van Wagner.
A Memorial Mass was held on Saturday, May 21, at St. Rose of Lima Church in Short Hills.
