I am deeply saddened by the passing of Prof. Prasad. I will miss him on-campus. Whenever we met - he always made time to chat with me and he was always filled with joy. I enjoyed our talks about music and spirituality. One of my most treasured books is written by Prof. Prasad; "108 Thoughts to Ponder". Thank-you for the honor and pleasure of knowing you Prof. Prasad. My heartfelt condolences to his family.

I had lunch with Prof. Prasad just last month. We discussed Carnatic music, the music conference he was organizing in Bangalore, his weekly classes on Hinduism, etc. It was great to catch up with him after several months since I did not get a chance to meet with him after his retirement. We collaborated on a Carnatic music and tap dance project. He brought the team of musicians together.
Prof. Prasad was always friendly and nice to people. He always agreed to serve on my students' dissertation committees.
I am shocked that he is not with us anymore. My deepest condolence to his family.

My dear teacher Professor MG Prasad:
I would like to thank you so much for all valuable skills you taught me: You are the one who taught me how to approach students and how to manage a course. You are the one who taught me how to derive equations of a dynamical system. I still mention your name to my peers and to my students. Your light will be with us, and I will go on carrying the torch.
Thank you very much for all your efforts. Thank you very much for reminding me to smile... Good bye till we meet again sir.
My condolences to the Prasad family. I am deeply saddened by your loss.

Dr. MGPrasad was such an enthusiastic and positive person to be around. Be it the classes he conducted, talks he gave or other activities he got involved in, he was much respected by all who interacted with him. Both Kannan and I have very fond memories of the time spent with him and Geeta-ji. Here is a photograph from his last visit to Chennai when he delivered a talk at IIT-Madras, his alma mater. His work was greatly appreciated.
He will be missed. Missed very much indeed. My heartfelt condolences to Geeta-ji and the rest of his family.

I am really shocked to know the sad demise of dear elderly person M.G.Prasad. I recall his good advise, support to advance in research and cultural studies. My acquaintance with him goes back to many years from his interactions with Dr.S R Leela at Bangalore, his contacts with Sari Ranga Priya Swamy ji ; and support for Hindu Education cause. I had the privilege of his hospitality and good fortune of understanding his personal meditation systems, experiments et al. His publications are always a good read. Today I was shocked to hear about sudden passage of Prof Dr Prasad, who was treasure house of understanding of Hindu traditions and world view. And always took time in his characteristic soft spoken manner to impart this knowledge to others. I met Dr Prasad at WBF function first time about 9 or 10 years ago. He actually gave a structure to our celebration of different festivals and made it meaningful for all children and adults.
His sudden departure is irreparable loss to us. And we will always remember him and miss him. His departure must be unbearable to his family members. May Shri Narayan's Anugruha be with him and may same Anugruha give courage and strength to his family to bear the loss.
Our hand folded Pranamas to the jeevAtma!.
