So saddened to hear of the passing of Howard. My wife and I worked together on the same bill once with him and we hit it off. I think everyone hit it off with Howard. He was that kind of man. After that it was phone conversations. He had such kind and generous spirit. Sure, he was funny. And yes he had a strong act. But it is Howard the person that left us with a lasting impression of goodness and that is who we will remember.

I'm so saddened to hear about Howard's passing - sending my condolences to the whole family. He was the kindest man with such a positive outlook in life, filled with immense love for his family and for the people around him.
I will forever cherish my time interning for FCE and getting to know him. Especially the lunch breaks, where I had the honor to hear stories from his life - and what a life he lived!
He will be greatly missed.

I only spoke to Howard a few times over the phone. However, he was very kind to me and introduced me to his son who got my wife and I one of our favorite gigs ever. It was awesome to hear Jr. speak of Sr. so glowingly and lovingly. He seemed like an amazing man. Thank you for sharing your light and love with so many. Rest in peace.

Howard Sr. gave me one of my very first big breaks when I needed it most. He believed in me. He saw something in me I didn't at the time. Dear Liz, Kim, Tracy and Howard,
I was so sorry to hear from Michael that your Husband/Father passed away. My heartfelt sympathies to you and the family as you go through this difficult time. Howard led an incredible life and helped raise 3 great children. Unfortunately, I am still recovering myself so I will not be able to attend the wake or the service but please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Although it has been 40 plus years since I’ve seen the Beder’s , Howie Beder was an inspiration too me when I was growing up ! He was one of my Dad’s best friends, and the Beder’s lived in my family’s building in Bay Ridge , Brooklyn! Even though I was in my early teens , he never made me feel like a kid ! I would hang out with him and my Dad , and he made me feel like I was a friend , not a kid ! We went on family vacations to Jamaica ,where he was the Entertainer at the Playboy Club ,and it was awesome! There is a lot of water under the Bridge, but some people leave a mark on you , and that was HOWIE BEDER!

I was deeply saddened when I heard the bad news I have been friends with Howard since high school. We also use to double date and go out together with our girlfriends (our wives now) many years ago. I still remember the fun we had in the "Green Tea Room" with all of our friends. Even though we live miles apart we always spoke to each other by telephone every few months to see what was happening.
