I was Mr. Hogenaur's student in 7th grade at Valley Rd. School in Princeton. He was one of the most inspiring teachers I have ever had, and I only now learned of his death. He had us polling from house to house at one point trying to put an end to the Electoral College. If only that had worked!! Many condolences to his family.

Dear Claire & family, Inspiring and wise, Mr. Hogenauer was, hands down, the best teacher I ever had. By example, he showed us how to think critically, how to treat each other with respect and kindness, and how to boldly pursue individual intellectual and creative passions. Mr Hogenaur was my homeroom teacher at Columbia High School from 1988-1992. His calm presence and availability for advice steered us all in the right direction. May he rest in peace. Chitra Deshpande
